Your guide to going out at the AvidXchange Music Factory

Posted by Katie Vaas • Nightlife Reviews

An underrated area of Charlotte has just about everything and anything you could want to create the perfect Spring and Summer go-to spot. From a beer garden with a volleyball court and giant chess, a walk-up pizza window, frozen alcoholic icees, to five different concert and performance areas, there are so many great locations to eat, drink, play, and be entertained at the AvidXchange Music Factory. The location itself has many great events, like the upcoming Moo & Brew Fest, so keep your eyes on their Facebook page!

Below is your guide on where to explore:

  • VBGB- is a German-inspired pub & outdoor beer hall named for CBGB Music Hall in New York with a large selection of specialty brews. Their trivia on Thursdays lasts for forever, but it's worth the late night. Their sports courts and giant chess are also there to continue the fun every other day of the week!
  • 8.2.0 Pizzeria & Bar – One word for you: Karaoke.  This spot has an AMAZING karaoke set-up.  There is also a small arcade complete with foosball, air hockey, and arcade game classics. Here is the important detail though, the night to check out 8.2.0 is Wednesday.  They have an out of this world deal where for $15 you get two glasses of wine or sangria and a charcuterie board. Yes. Take a moment. Let it sink in. It is true.

  • Small Bar – This spot can lovingly be considered a hole in the wall. Although tiny in square footage, it is big on drink specials.  The perfect place to go for a pre-concert drink, as part of a music factory crawl, or just a venue for hours spent enjoying the company of others.

  • Wet Willies – I mean, frozen alcoholic drinks.  They are fabulous and a great start to any evening.  They also have many activities including daiquiris and paint nights; so, checking out their event calendar on Facebook is essential.

  • The Comedy Zone -  Charlotte’s home for comedy! From stand-up acts to improve shows, there is a little bit to satisfy every comedy taste.

The Underground + The Fillmore + The Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheater + World Nightclub - This is the music factory after all, so of course there are fantastic music venues.  Check out our websites for a list of shows happening and depending on the level of intimacy you are seeking, there is something for you.
